Our goal is to create a way of connecting electronics on a paper-like surface without the use of external wires. Our initial method was to use plastic with an aluminum coating on one side as our medium. We first used X-shaped cuts and isolated channels to connect electrical elements:
But after some experimentation we realized that H-shaped cuts would provide better conductivity:
We continued to experiment more with the hope of creating a full circuit that caused an LED to blink but we were unsuccessful. After some investigation, we realized that this was because the aluminum coating was very thin and would get scratched easily, resulting in leaks between the different isolated channels. Our solution to this was to use copper tape and after some trial and error, we were finally successful in creating a simple demo.
