FORAY - Theoretical analysis and discussion about weight distribution

This week, the research question that we are trying to explore is what is the impact of weight distribution on performance. The theoretical analysis is as follows:

One of the impact is that weight distribution will change the line of action of the force, and also will change the cross-section-area(CSA).

After the discussion, we have some ideas about centralized weight distribution vs. decentralized weight distribution:

  • Escept for the theoretical analysis, we think another difference between decentralized and centralized configuration is that the moment of ineria around y and z axis is different.
  • This will cause the agility vs. stability. We think that centralized configuration will turn faster while decentralized configuration will be more stable.

The next step is that we will conduct an experiment to verify this.
