The COVID-19 virus first originated in Wuhan, China, in late December of 2019, and has become a global epidemic. Thus, due to the fact that LEMUR Lab has a high end laser cutter, and a relatively standard grade 3D printer, this post is just to brainstorm and think about ways in which we can put this tool to good use. Additionally, many of us have experience in advanced ML classes, and I believe this expertise can also be put into good use in predicting how the virus will mutate, characterize what each part of the COVID-19 genome is responsible for, or potentially find new treatments.
