Phipson participated as an undergraduate student researcher during the Spring of 2018, working at LEMUR, supervised by Professor Mehta, in conjunction with the HCI Lab at UCLA, supervised by Professor Chen, to investigate and design Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) systems that enhance and simplify the process of computer-aided furniture design (CAD) through gesture detection and 3-dimensional collaborative environments. He is currently working with Qiong Hu over the Summer of 2018 to actualize the research in preparation for the CHI Conference of 2019.
